Enfield Town v Hendon

After a great result on Saturday, a really attractive North London derby match beckons at the QE Stadium on Tuesday evening, when Town host old rivals Hendon in the 2nd Round of the Robert Dyas League Cup.

Hendon are having a great season and are currently third in the Ryman Premier League. They are also going well in the FA Trophy, but face a tough test on Saturday when they travel to face Ebbsfleet in the third qualifying round.

If we beat Hendon we will be rewarded with another home tie against Hampton & Richmond in the last 16.

Our excellent performance and well deserved win at Kingstonian on Saturday, underlined the ability, strength, and team spirit of our team. A cup win over Hendon would be further proof of progress.

Good luck to Brad and the boys. Let's do the business!

Here we go again, why weren't the pitch problems sorted out in the close season instead of allowing

rugby on the pitch, rain on Sunday then game called off Tuesday.

They forecast a very wet few months which at this rate means Brad will playing catch up with games

towards the end of the season.

Lessons obviously not learnt by the club last season.

Rant over come on you towners.

Vauxhallman, we did look at the problems in close season. And we also looked at the option to sort the problems the rugby also allowed us to spend a little bit more than usual on the pitch! To sort the problems out we would need around £20k which the club doesn't have.

You are doing a good job. £20,000 is an awful lot of money to find to do whatever is needed, especially as it was laid just a few years ago.

  • 2 weeks later...

A real ding-donger cup battle is in prospect at the QE Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday) evening when Town host local rivals Hendon in our re-arranged Robert Dyas League Cup match.

Since this match was called off a fortnight ago, due to a water-logged pitch, our visitors have gone out of the FA Trophy, and slipped to 4th in the RPL table, whilst we have climbed to 8th.

This match will be a very close encounter, with both sides keen to get back to winning ways, and progress in this competition. Definitely a match not to miss.

Town will be looking to make home advantage tell, and Brad and the boys will be pulling out all the stops to deliver the right result, with the loud vocal backing of the Enfield Ultras.

Good luck everyone.

A goal-less first half and everything to play for in the next 45 minutes. Both clubs have field strong teams and so far there is nothing to separate them. Let's hope it doesn't go to extra time and penalties.

The weather must be pretty miserable........attendance this evening 97.

Sorry Towners, no good news to round off the evening. Hendon take the honours and progress to the quarter final of the League Cup.

Full Time Score:   Town 0-1 Hendon

Be interested to hear from some of the hardy souls who attended the match.
