Bit harsh Fingers, they are the 2nd highest scorers in that League though with 44 goals, and thats without the' Mercurial Goal scoring machine that is Ross Allen.Last night was an improvement on last weeks 8-0 drubbing at Merstham, nice to know that they are human.Easier task this Saturday at high flying Whyteleafe, who it seems play better away from home

Lazy game on as of 6-15

Fantastic turnaround.

And the young referee was excellent. Of course coz we won.

(He was.)

Now, now Rother !!!  ;)

Top Groundsman Nut250 only game on credit to you lad, pitch looked really good.  Do you still do Bedfont & Feltham pitch as they also played last night ?

Very enjoyable game right up until the end, credit to both teams under trying conditions.

Winning 2-0 at half time is the most dangerous scoreline !   I been involved and seen so many times that the losing team at half time, goes out scores first then they go on to win the game.  Going in at 2-0 teams become complacent then when the other team scores, a decision has to be made whether to hold on to 2-1 or go for it and if you do make yourself more vulnerable as the momentum is now with the other team, then you see matches like the Battle of the Alamo.

A game of 2 halves.  Windsor sat back and let Ashford play, second half they up'd their game and see what happened.

Good dogged effort from Windsor.   Ashford will be kicking themselves...!

Cove must be happy  :P

Definitely a game of two halves and well contested all night by both teams. One allegedexpert suggested it was game over at half time as Windsor didn't have what it takes to get back into the game!

Not sure about your suspicions Smudge, but the chap you seem to think is BG was not

there with me at the game.

Also add my thanks to Ashford who were, and always are, very welcoming. You don't oftenget invited into the boardroom when on a spying mission but Alan and his colleagues aretop people and were, as ever, generous with their hospitality.

Bedfont & Feltham 1 Southall 0

Southall had a good 10 chances to score but they could not get the ball in the back of the net which has been the problem for Southall FC for the last year or so. Southall FC need a 20 to 30 goals a season striker if they want to get promoted next season but yes they are hard to find these days. Southall were by far the better team yesterday in my opinion and the Bedfont & Feltham goal came totally against the run of play. Southall try to play football in the right way but they need to score more goals if they want to finish in the top six this season. Nice to still see D.Cassells between the sticks and he couldn't have done much about the goal. No C.Barrett, C.Stewart or R.Baptiste for Southall yesterday and they missed them. Maybe Southall should try to get C.Vanterpool back at the club as I see he is now at Bedfont & Feltham but he didn't play yesterday.

Bedfont & Feltham FC have some decent players in there squad this season and should be higher in the league in my opinion. J.Busby, L.Graig, J.Lambe, J.Ward, M.Ward and K.Andrews are all decent players and with the no nonsense Ward brothers at the back any keeper will feel safe :)

Also a decent little programme by Bedfont & Feltham FC good luck to them in the next round.

Yeah the Bedfont & Feltham and Ashford Town pitches do seem to get the upper hand on the bad weather most of the time. Out of the local pitches in West London those two seem to cope best with bad weather.

Do they have any drainage under the pitch?

Could not tell you what drainage is underneath , I very much doubt either have installed drainage , just what's natural in the ground , plus a good maintenance regime helps no end , and both clubs listen to the advice given too them regarding what to do and what not to do ,

Ashford do have quite a sophisticated drainage system which was put in some ten years ago when the pitch was completely re-laid.  Bearing in mind that the pitch is also on gravel, it does mean that there are very few matches postponed as a result of waterlogging,  There is also a sprinkler system but it is ponderous compared to more modern systems, in that the very large hose has to be towed out and then allowed to distribute water as it rolls back very slowly under its own steam.  I understand it takes about 3 hours to completely roll back and that only does half of the pitch, so it's a six hour job to water it fully.  Not really a problem just at the moment though!

I am sure that Liam, Steve and the others will have the pitch more than fit for play on Saturday.  The opportunity for the Brentford match wasn't one that could easily be turned down.

Many thanks for the info.

When Hanwell Town's games get called off I always look to see if Bedfont & Feltham or Ashford Town are at home because more than often they will still be on when Hanwell's game has been called off due to bad weather.

That's a decent friendly for Ashford Town this Friday they should get a few through the gate and a £5 entrance fee is good value.
