Tonight v wingate

well we did come away with less !

a just about deserved draw.

shaded the first half perhaps ,with wingate shading the second.

almost scored with a header after about 10 mins-cleared off line (not sure if it was johnson or moss.

riviere made a stunning goal line stop with bull beaten to keep out a wingate chance after about 20 mins.

quite good football from both teams on a very good pitch-another match paid at a high pace by both sides.

wingate really closed margate down in second half-had very little space to work in-it seemed like wingate had 14 players to our 11.

I don't think wingate particularly raised their game-i just got the impression that they are simply all round team

Iffy allen for wingate caused a few problems in first half, but fortunately he tired in the second half and was subbed..

They probably deserved their lead after about 60 mins-we started second half a bit casually i thought..I

think we lost possession when trying to clear and they had a shot from about 20 yards=not sure if it was deflected past bull.no-ones particular fault that goal

OUr equalise a bit fortunate as that was from a wingate defensive mistake-crossfield pass managed to find luke oore who bore down on goal and got it in at second attempt.

we pressed hard for the winner in last 15 minutes which really opened up the game-and arguably wingate had the better chances.

gave me kittens as i  would have rather us close up shop=take the point -rather than go for 3 points and end up conceding which nearly happened 2/3 times=pragmatism as opposed to boldness i would have advocated.

anyone just managed the point at the end-and for me-it remains a decent result to get a point away from home on a tuesday night

everyone had a decent hard working game for margate-with arguably johnson being m-of -m just ahead of riviere and luke moore-who was more prominent than i have seen him in previous games.

apart from that-my first visit to wingate will be remembered for their low floodlight pylons where i needed a visor to avoid being dazzled, and the two tallest linesmen in non leagueboth linesmen must have been 6' 5''-weird

I was in attendance last night and this is now the fourth time I've seen you play this season. Observations follow:

i) You were very poor against Harrow and managed to sneak the 3 points with a late deflected goal. If the truth be known, you deserved nothing from the match.

ii) 3-2 against Hendon in what was a cracking encounter. The better side won.

iii) 3-1 against Enfield. It could have finished five or six to the home side. Margate were awful.

iv) 1-1 @ Wingate. W&F clearly had the better chances and could have been out of sight before the equaliser. Again, I thought you were poor.

I find Margate quite pleasing on the eye to watch, but for a team with the alleged budget behind them, you really don't create too many chances.

What will happen when you have to visit quagmires in Jan/Feb/March when 'football' is played in the air? Personally, I can see you boys losing more games away from home against inferior opposition as there's something clearly lacking. Width, or the lack of, is probably something to do with it.

One shouldn't laugh - but Zac Attwood. What a waste of a jersey.
