25-10-14: Billericay Town v Peacehaven

Recommended Posts

This Saturday afternoon Billericay Town host both Peacehaven and Telscombe (though possibly not in that order).

Beforehand a few of us will be meeting in The Crown from 12-12:30 and will be watching Manchester City's destruction of West Ham as well as witnessing the realisation on many deluded West Ham fan's faces when they realise they won't be qualifying for the Champions League next season.

You are invited to join us for a mineral water, possibly some crisps and maybe a Sherry before we depart for New Lodge.

We started off poorly and struggled to get out of our rut despite often playing well,we were the better side against both Margate and maidstone and away from home had some decent results,if we have in fact turned the corner then I think we could push for the play offs,12 points gap in October is nothing really

I'm glad you two are keeping the forum alive.  Still early days in the league. We have not even begun the snow and water logging season yet.

Looking forward to seeing some football tomorrow.

You're right.  There is a lot of football left to play.

If anyone at New Lodge was curious (like me) about the huge "Connor 5" flag the Peacehaven folks brought with them, then you really should read this:

http://www.connors5.com/our-connor

It also explains why their centre-back wore "15" for the match and is particularly poignant reading bearing in mind what happened to our keeper Nicky Morgan three years ago. BTW, does anyone know how Nicky is these days ?

Respect to our visitors today, rather does put the disappointment of dropping two points in stoppage time in persective and now I am almost pleased (almost!) that their fans were able to enjoy a happy moment at the match today...

It was disappointing to not come away with 3 points. Peacehaven were an average team quality wise and with the amount of chances we had its quite hard to believe we didn't win. We're currently 13th in the league, and i think we're definitely better than a lot of the teams above, just got to hope a bit of luck goes our way otherwise the gap between the top teams will become too big
