Saturday 18th October Matches

Recommended Posts

Providing you can find a dedicated youngster in this era who would sacrifice earning £20 quid at Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsburys etc to sit on the bench for experience.

Even Conference North clubs go into game without a sub-goalie http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29691123.

I agree that even though he may not have trained as a goalie for 4-5 years, having that experience would have helped Ruggles.  When I first joined Sandhurst in the days where you could only name 5 subs for FA Cup matches (still 2 for the league), we would often have striker Graham Huddison double up as sub-keeper.

Really Graham could play in goal.  Kept that quiet when I played in the same team as him !!!

Huddy went in goal a few times for the mighty Jolly Farmer Kroons. I'm sure I saw him play in goal in a cup final at Farnborough a few years ago as well - I can't remember if it was for Sandhurst or one of his Sunday teams though.

Of course, the best local outfield player who wasn't averse to having a go between the sticks when asked was the Ox.

That was because he was mental !

fear of outing me??!! just been told what that means your a prat jonno!! everybody that matters knows who i am,and you dont matter,my name is SALV, shelley is my son in law so DO have a chat with him. then u and all the others who claim people are lying or shit stirring will have egg on there face, while your chatting with shelley ask him wher his Wife was that night she was not at the hospital as claimed by others but being a prat you have missed the most important point NOBODY should drive to a hospital after getting a kick to their head ALONE end of

Please read my posts a bit more careful Salv. I don't have the facts what happened after the match so can't comment. As for the head injury, if we sent every player to hospital that bumped or took a knock to the head, the hospitals would be full of footballers. Shelley was obviously ok to drive himself or someone would have taken him. End of (as you put it).

jonno i'm afraid we will have to agree to disagree on this one,i think someone with a serious injury should be at least accompanied to hospital and you think not, strange how some people think but we are all entitled to our opinions,i would however like to offer you a flannel and a bowl of soapy warm water to remove the egg  :D nice one Pauls

as it happens a few people at the club offered to take shells to the hospital in the end geoff the other keeper coach took him and i believe waited until shells partner arrived, so would be appreciated people got there facts right, but i suppose gossip is the highlight of some lives, the chairman said shells had no stitches just glued

Egg on face  :D

Duncs that's cheap coming from someone who p1sses everyone off. A head injury only needs the appropriate treatment if someone is concussed or loses consciousness. A minor cut to the head does not fall into that category. Knaphill did exactly the right thing by taking necessary precautions by getting him off the pitch & treating him. After that, I cannot comment as I don't have the facts. Pauls has not messaged me in fear of me outing him. I will speak to Shelley this week in person. Yet again, a minor incident blown out of proportion.

so you think you speak for everyone, well let me just remind you, the people who i p1ss off are mostly liers and some wannabee's,however i would just like to say kettle and black to you.  :D One guy in particular wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit him ha ha ha

Chris any chance of your in depth report being posted. The Dorking Sadvertiser reached a new low with theirs

Peter:  I don't think the SAdvertiser send staff reporters to games these day.  Thy used too a couple of seasons ago, but from what I'm told, they seem to rely on match reports being sent in to them by various Club Secs.  This may of course, account for what some people see as a 'biased report' !!

From what I hear Duncs, you were a 'has never been'. But only going on what I've been told. I wasn't playing football in the 60's so really can't comment :-)

Duncs were you ever a Troggs fan, they came from nearby you in Andover.

Wild thing,Give it to me,I can't control myself,Night of the long grass, were some of their hits.

However the one that about sums up you and Johnno has to be---------

LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME.---I feel it in my fingers,I feel it in my toes, love is all around me,and so the feeling grows.

Feel free to list your clubs and achievements. I'm not sure how far back the internet and newspaper cuttings go but I'm sure someone will happily research you.
