South Midlands League Premier

AFC DUNSTABLE 2-2 LEVERSTOCK GREEN

Admission £5.00 Prog  £1.00 CBC & C £6.10 Tea £1.20

Attendance 58 (eventually)

AFC started at 100mph and opened the scoring on eight minutes, courtesy of Leon Cashman who appears to have recovered well from his time at la ferme du cloche. More goals were threatened, but The Pancakes' defence held firm and showed they were in no mood to be tossed aside.

Second half was a different story as the visitors seized the game by the scruff of the neck and scored two in quick succession. Dunstable weren't to be thwarted and earned their equaliser after one of those frenetic goalmouth scrambles that so often have the desired effect.

So that was the appetiser - the main course is on Saturday when LG visit again for the Vase tie. As for me, my next visit won't be until April, when hopefully the Bestie burger and chips won't end up exiting through BOTH ends as was the case in the early hours

Highlight of the Hadley v Hertford game was a Hertford player shouting at the ref 'what's that for?' when he blew for half time!

Bloody awful game all round.

Even the handbags at half-time lacked any passion!

Sounds like I'm in for a fun packed day when the teams meet again in the return in December

It'll be different at The Park Karen.

The fans will make a difference I'm sure and there will be scrummy food available too.

No food on Wednesday night and one man and a dog watching in Potters Bar.

Could hear a pin drop at full-time after a dire game.

The Gaffa will tear into them and we expect better in the Vase tomorrow!

Great night out at AFC Dunstable, good people and a good game. Good to talk with Steve Heath too. Either team could have won the game. 6 cautions is  a nice game of football. Shame that.
