Final score - Stony 0-9 Tring Athletic

Athletic cruised to a big win in the Challenge Trophy at Ostlers Lane getting off to a good start with Chris Vardy netting after just 6 minutes. Taylor Collins doubled the lead on 32 minutes before Vardy scored again 3 minutes later. Sonny Bailey-Aird then opened his account for the club 5 minutes before the break.

Half time Stony Stratford 0-4 Tring Athletic

Again Tring were quick out the blocks scoring a 5th and Chris Vardy completing his hat trick on 48 minutes. On 63 minutes the Kieran Turner show took over! Kieran made his Athletic debut against Oxhey Jets on Saturday but fired 4 goals tonight including 3 in the space of just over 4 minutes.

Athletic will now face a trip to St Margaretsbury in the 3rd round.

TAFC Scorers Vardy 6,35,48 Collins 32, Bailey-Aird 40, Turner, 63,80,82,84

Another goal for E.Casey last night his 5th goal since his return to the Jets. I would have him back at Hanwell yesterday a good player.

LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY First Round

1-3 Edgware Town v Kings Langley (@ Underhill, Barnet)

From 'pottersbarbee' on another forum;

Edgware Town 1 Kings Langley 3

venue Underhill Stadium EN5

A strangely emotional evening returning to the place I spent 25 years watching football but have not set foot in for 15 months.

To the uneducated from the outside you would be unaware that Barnet no longer reside at Underhill, signage remains welcoming you to Barnet football club and the 6 year old floodlights stand out as you walk towards the ground.

The reformed Edgware Town have hired the ground for 5 games while they await fa signoff for their artificial pitch at Silver Julie park.

Kings Langley started the brighter but it was Dan Quattramini of Edgware who gave them a 1-0 ht lead.

A red card for Edgware's no6 changed the game and Kings Langley took control of the game scoring 3 times to make into the hat for the next round.

1 more game remains at this famous old ground after which who knows what will happen to it.

LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY First Round

4-3 New Bradwell St Peter v Wolverton Town

From 'Tim' on another forum;

New Bradwell St Peter 4 Wolverton Town 3 (Spartan South Midlands League Trophy) Att: 64 h/c

I've been meaning to go to this one for years and finally got there this evening - well worth the wait. This was a really entertaining game, with the home side cruising to a 4 goal lead after 44 minutes. The visitors scored either side of the break, then a third came with a quarter of an hour to go, but they ran out of steam and St Peter were more comfortable winners than the score suggests. Both sides played some good stuff and it felt better than step 7.

I really liked the ground as well. Don't think I've ever seen a windmill so close to a ground before. A decent stand with a row of bench seating at the front was the main football furniture. A good natured crowd with lots of friendly banter with the players added to the fun. Admission was £2 including a more than decent programme.

Other than the inevitable M5 closure, a grand night out.
