First trip to Westfield yesterday for the Chertsey game. Found Woking Park easy enough, but the ground was a little more difficult. A few signs for Westfield wouldn't go amiss.

Brilliant 30 yarder goal for Westfield, but two first half disallowed goals for Chertsey had the visiting fans cursing the lino. I think he got one right but...

Two goals from Pomroy either side of half time put Chertsey in command and they never looked back - in the end it was an easy win. Westfield cause not helped by shocking ricket by goalie for Chertsey's third - ball straight through his hands. Bet he's still living it down now.

Their sluggish start has probably knocked promotion on the head for the Curfews this season but they look a lot better than when I saw them earlier in the season at RPV.

One other thing - I bought a raffle ticket but no result was ever published, either in the bar at half time or on the team board. Come on Westfield - I don't begrudge the pound but let's see who won !

Guildford 2-2 Windsor

Guildford fans were very impressed with Windsor at HT - couldn't believe they were 2-1 up, but for all Windsor's individual flair didn't have the same boots on as they had against Mole Valley last week and when the 2nd half got scrappy it became very even stevens....

A word for Guildford's 1st goal, the best I have ever seen at non league level. Think James Rodriguez's goal in the World Cup. 30 yards out, took a clearance on his chest and volleyed into top corner. Absolute stunner.

The match report for our win at Knaphill is here:

It was a nice start for our new Manager with quite a few regulars out so we had limited depth apart from a couple of new guys who did well enough when they came on.

makes a change to have too much grass on the pitch, normally not enough....but a good reason why it was like that tho

You did warn me. As I said, pitch was better than you described Friday night!

Sorry I missed you Saturday.

Sorry also, later leaving Chessington as we was getting the details about why their game was abandoned.... Have to say it sounds more than just handbags.... But not saying anymore

The local Staines & Ashford News says " the game was abandoned due to a player threatening others with a weapon, believed to be a pitchfork, after a man from each side was sent off."

WOW ! Almost makes you wish you were there. No wonder all concerned are trying to keep the lid on it - this is just the sort of stuff that could end up in the Sun or, worse still, the Daily Mail.
