Come on cheer up.

However bad things are now (or get) we should have faith in the management to turn things around.

In my view, they have always done a good job in difficult circumstances - this year we seem to have very difficult circumstances.

As a club, we have in recent years (with the exception of the Conference South season) always had a 'winning' record and so this is what we have come to expect.

4 of the games we have lost have only been by the odd goal

Football should be about supporting your club through thick and thin.

So cmon you urchins

P.S. its not September yet - don't stop believin'

I'm  new to the forum, but after years of supporting the club through thick and thin (my first match was at home to Marlow) I feel the need to add some comments. I realise that on another post there is a rallying call from someone, who is probably connected with the running of the club, but the management must not forget the loyal supporters spend hard earned cash week in week out supporting the Urchins and the forum seems to be a perfectly legitimate way of allowing us to raise our concerns, so we should not be criticised for doing so. Put quite simply I think we need a change of manager. I have sat through endless matches where the ball has been booted up the field to players who are unable to make use of high balls. Ok we made the play-offs, but supporters are not going to come and support such boring play whatever the result. Over the years we have lost home and away supporters. I know because I've been at the matches. Now we seem to start matches with a passing game which I assume is a result of Martin Lings' coaching but when the going gets tough we start to boot the ball again. This is down to the manager on the day. I sit and hear away managers coaching their team, praising good play but from our bench I usually hear criticism. I know that Colin has done wonders for the club raising revenue through the clubhouse, but unless we re-think how we interact with players and manage on the day I fear this season may be the end for more supporters.

Thanks

I can assure you that I am not in any way involved in the running of the club.

With regard to the post that I made, I felt there were some unjust remarks being made.

I know everyone can make their comments on the forum, which they are free to do.

But what concerns me is the fact I haven't seen many posts baking the Board or Team Management

My comments were my view, Looking back on it quite harsh.

The reason I use this forum is because I enjoy being at the club and i use this to voice my opinions of what goes on through the gates. I know times are hard at our club not having any (as of yet) home games and money will obviously be tight being this far into the season without a home match. There are other people who are the same as me that go to games and communicated and talk about matches & goings on.

On my topic/post It wasn't aimed at anybody specific because that's just digging out and will cause only more problems, all i wanted to do was voice my opinion of our match at grays and the games we played beforehand.

I do agree with jammyboys post as in we have lost many home and away loyal supporters which is sad to see because this is a great club, The over the top constant balls that lead to an opponents goal kick or throw in obviously doesn't work and could need a bit of seeing to. our match against Wingate Saturday we was unlucky, Special mention to George Purcell who I personally played so well but came away empty handed. We played the ball on the floor and at this level there ain't many teams that do so. That's usually seen at the higher levels (Conference) you see "on the floor" attacking football. When we play that style it works and you can clearly see a difference. We played that Saturday and it was a lot better than what we played at Grays. We was just unlucky. Thats the way our start to the season has gone so hopefully on Tuesday night against Maidstone we can get the ball on the floor and let the goals flow.

Thoughts please?

A very honest post EA.  Look, I think that everyone has at some time posted comments on here that maybe unfair or wrong, but in the main I think that many recent comments are justified.  Its important that the fans are able to voice their opinions good or bad and I also enjoy reading them on this superb forum.  Without us, the fans there is no club, full stop.  Not at this level anyway.

In my opinion a manager that has been able to give us promotion hunting seasons in the ryman prem is a strong manager, and when things get tough should be given time and lots of it to turn things around. It occured to me recently that there are things that might be making it even harder for us at the moment that I hadn't thought of before, and given our string of away games we should at least see how 5 or so home games go before we discuss too much more about the team overall.

I know we want to keep negative comments off the forum, and if anything that has made me more negative at games instead of putting frustrating posts on here. Really I think it is better to post what you really think on here and keep the positive comments verbally at games, as the players deserve a positive atmosphere at games.

In terms of the forum - I know this is a bone of contention with some people as this is public but I think there needs to be an outlet for people to view their opinions.

Do I moan - yes, although I would never boo or criticise a player directly in a game, that doesn't help anyone.

We're not playing as well as we can, the league table shows that, but we haven't been helped by floodlight situation and I think if we convert our chances, we will end up thumping someone. We just need to get our confidence together.

As for hoofing it, we just haven't got the players to do that (we would need a Sappleton/Rook etc. for those tactics). Contrary to popular belief, we're not the biggest side in the league and we can't play like that, maybe a ball over the top to the corners for our forwards to run onto but not straight down the throats of the opposition centre halves, they would just pick us off.

I don't think it's a conscious tactic, I just think if we get bogged down in midfield, we end up resorting to that.

Going back to my earlier post, I was trying to get the point over that the Management and Board should be supported at this moment in time.

Having played 7 games away so far, 4 have been lost by a single goal

one was drawn when we were two in front

One we lost 4-0 which ended with the opposition goalkeeper was named M.O.M.

And the other was lost by some bad decisions going against us.

Therefore I don't think we are in a crisis.

Let's hope that when we get the return fixtures in December and January, there will be more happier posts on here.

I for one feel we will pull out of this.

Am with you all the way Bazza.

Let's not forget that Leiston look a very good outfit this season and got a very credible draw down at margate Saturday.

Anyone talking about changing manager needs their head examined, the blokes record at our little club is second to none, don't be so fckng ungrateful people and remember who we are and where we've come from
