2014/15 Season Predictions

Recommended Posts

So, many of the new squads have taken part in some pre-season friendlies by now and the backbone of most teams will have been confirmed.

Given that some tinkering and late signings may take place, where do you see your club finishing the season?

League position? FA Cup/Vase runs? League Cup challenge?

I'll kick off and for Hertford Town FC I predict a top 10 league finish and we'll make it through the first three rounds of each cup competition we're involved in.

Our rivals at St.Mags & Hoddy will also do well I suspect but I can't see a clear league winner and think it'll be quite the open season.

Your club thoughts?

Is go with bedford especially if they have the money the seem to be offering and keeping last seasons squad together I think it'll be their season. Crawley green, WGC, and as DC says one if the London clubs particularly ETFC who apparently will sweep everyone away.

I think Berko for the Prem but very hard to predict at this stage.

Shaping up to be a great season for Div 1..Bedford, Welwyn, Crawley..

Would like to see St Mags push on a little more this season...

Rumour coming from Jets is that Putman is back. If true, that could put them right up there, especially if they can continue on from their late run of form last season. Jets have always been Tasker's (Berko GK) bogey team, if their clashes are the title-deciders, it will go Jet's way.

Langford to walk Div 1, I'm hearing there is money there and they have attracted players from Dunstable's SSML title winning side.

It's a huge lack of ambition from the lad but personally, I'm excited to see him back in this league again.

He had various offers from higher clubs but nowhere would treat him as good as Jets do. I've heard he gets keys to the club house, is allowed to pour his own pints, has new socks for each game, gets moulded and studded boots in all three of the primary colours, he's allowed to smoke in the changing room, gets lifts to and from the ground and a goal bonus worth of a League 2 side. You can turn down that sort of offer. I wonder if, with Putman back, they will get the ground improvements in place and push on up the football pyramid....?

As much as Langford would love to have a budget, I can assure you that is 100% incorrect. They have no players who were in Dunstable's league winning team. They will have a very strong side this season and are likely to be challenging for the title, but it is purely through good local connections. With sides like Crawley, Bedford and Baldock etc there will be no one "walking" that division!

That's usually what the clubs with a bit of money say.

And funnily enough my pal saw Dunstable's title-winining invincible left-back Danny Mead in the red of Langford.

It's not a bad thing Double O, I'm actually all for seeing Langford back in the prem. My prediction stands, Langford to walk it.

but they will certainly not be getting there through paying wages. You might see the odd jug of fosters though, does that count??

Only if they declare it for tax purposes

He did feature in a friendly for 45 minutes but is very unlikely to sign. I hope you are right RH, Langford is an excellent club and should be in the prem, but they will certainly not be getting there through paying wages. You might see the odd jug of fosters though, does that count??

Always think of Langfprd as being very strong prem side. Regards to local connections, why haven't they been in force in recent seasons? Always enjoyed games against and visits to Langford was on losing side on a good number of occasions to some quality sides there over the years.

If that's a case, I might retract my prediction. If they're using their pre-season friendlies to play highly-rated players who won't be signing, I see that as pointless. I heard they completely outplayed a Cockfoster's trialist side the other night but who knows how many of those players will be there on August 9th.

Karen how are WGC looking? Have you got to any of the friendlies?
