Israel a country of 'peace' ?

Recommended Posts

I THINK NOT.

At last, they show their true colours by deliberately murdering children in a UN compound in Gaza.

I have kept quiet on this current situation, but enough is enough !!

The Jews are commiting war crimes  -  NO More  -  No Less.

It's time to isolate Israel completely.  Failing that, a direct strike against Haiffa ???

Maybe  -  Just maybe, Adolph had the right idea.

Agree with everything except the last sentence.

They are completely out of control.

If we had done that in Northern Ireland, imagine the outcry there would have been (quite rightly as well)

Unfortunately they can do whatever they want as they will always have US backing.

We may not have behaved so abominably in Ulster, but we certainly did in Iraq.

.............and it certainly doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Don't you just love the way the Israelis blame Hammas for shelling their own kids ?

Any sympathy I may have had for the Jews in the past has rapidly evaporated over the last few days !!

I'm not sure where you get the premise for your original question JR - Israel - a country of peace?

Not sure if you've been with us the last few decades JR or on the Planet La la but Israel have been at war since it's inception back in 1948!

Surrounded on all sides by countries sworn to obliterate the country and every last inhabitant from the face of the Earth I should think you'd have known the answer already!

AGREED !

John Prescott is now in trouble for describing Israel as the 1939-1945 Nazis but building a concentration camp in Gaza.

I have to agree with him.  The Palestinians only have the sea to one side and the jews to the other.

Sounds like a custom built concentration camp to me.

How long before the Israeli's adopt a skull and crossbones bade for their caps ??

Synagogues in Golders Green must be getting slightly worried.  Watch this space ????

What do you make of pictures like these JR? Do you think the Israelis send their children to kill muslims?

Perhaps it is all just a little more fu@ked up than we can begin to comprehend or explain?

Both sides come out of this current situation totally discredited,  and unfortunately all the unnecessary violence just builds hatred that will last for generations. Maybe if America and the rest of the world seriously pushed for a peaceful solution instead of sucking up to the Israelis  some kind of meaningful peace could be found,

I'll go back to one of my original points.

The United Nations should be disbanded.  They are a masive lion with all its teeth removed.

At best, they are a great advert for world peace.

At worst. they are fu*cking useless.

The super powers should be acting like teachers in a school playground...

Unless the US gets to grips with the disproportionate economic and political power that the Jewish population have in their country then Israel will keep on acting this way. That's where the real problem is. Without massive US involvement, Israel would have been crushed decades ago.

If the US turned around to Israel and said negotiate a peace and stop stealing land for new settlements or we'll cut off economic and military aid and then started to allow humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in exchange for a negotiated peaceful settlement than we might get some movement out there.

I'm not trying to deny Israel their own state, I just want a more stable middle-east

Is that unreasonable?

It's interfering in their business that has got them where they are today! With the British arming the arabs and the yanks likewise with the jews I think we've done enough.

The two races lived in harmony for thousands of years in between the Crusades and following WWII, perhaps we can all stop imagining that we've any say in the whole mess. We and the yanks have enough issues before thinking we can sort out someone else's!

I certainly agree that the British and French in particular have a lot to answer for. It was their attitude to re-bordering the middle east and their interference that have lead to some of the problems we see today. But this is just bordering on being mindless slaughter, surely we need to sort out a peaceful solution somehow? This will die down but it's just going to flare up again in a few years time.

Personally I feel that at some point we have to realise that we cannot sort some things out. Perhaps we could try to imagine a "World's Peacekeeper" attempting to sort out our middle ages, some of our history. In a country or even a region's development we all need to go through our own "Middle Ages", stand on our own two feet, join the civilised world, the right mind set amongst their citizens to responsibly be a part of a peaceful Earth (maybe...).

Whatever, America and their pets cannot afford to be the world's policemen, and we don't have the answer, there isn't an answer both peoples - Palestinians and Jews - can live with at present - they both want the same bit of sand. There's only one bit of sand to go round.

Old motto, "Not our Circus, not our Monkeys".

Not disagreeing with you Loose, Iraq as an example has been a disaster.

The problem here is that the US is already heavily involved and it's distorting the whole situation out there

To be entirely sincere let's just for a moment look at the reality. Hamas are fighting a PR war, it is Hamas itself that has broken the ceasefire every time in the last 5 years at least. While the leaders of Hamas hole up in a basement of a hospital they have told the Palestinian people to ignore the warnings from the IDF- phone calls, texts etc, warning palestinians of airstrikes - giving them adequate warning to go to shelters, leave their homes and seek safety while Hamas site their rocket launchers in and around their homes.

Hamas are using their citizens as a 'Human Shield', cynically decrying the deaths and injuries while firstly placing them in danger and then encouraging them to stay so that Hamas can claim some sort of moral high ground.

Let's imagine what we would do in Israel's place. Let's imagine some sort of conflict say perhaps with Cornwall, penned in by a boundary established by International Law, the UN etc., being armed by Iran in a holy war to push their county boundary further into Devon and England. Would we allow Cornwall to lob dozens of rockets a day into Exeter? Tunnel under Honiton in order to send death squads and kidnappers into Barnstaple with no reply? What the F would we be saying to the international community when they demand we institute yet more ceasefires only for the People's Party of Cornwall to break it yet again causing loss of life to the good people of Devon, untold economic and domestic crisis?

We'd tell them to sod off thank you very much.

Sorry for the lack of hyperbole because that is the situation and an accurate representation of an alternate reality.
