Note once PTG has updated all other posts will be deleted to keep the thread to just the one page.

Winslow 3 Old Bradwell 0

Good opening workout, score line probably a little harsh, but 3 poor defensive mistakes meant game was effectively over in first half. Lacked a bit of quality in final third, but to be expected this early. Great hosts at Winslow, treated it like competitive game with food after the game as well.

Crawley 5 - 1 Edgware. Edgwares only chance was 90th min and they scored. Not impressed by them at all. But new club new team etc not easy to gel.

We did very well, lots of players still missing so looking strong.

Jermaine Hall, Jack Downes, Jonathan Barnett and Liam Toomey all signed on today all fantastic additions.

Fantastic to see JJ play and score today first game after 2 years out after the horrific double fracture against Winslow.

I agree Edgware look like they are going to struggle to find a starting 11 that are ready to compete in time for the 9th August. But lets be honest, 4 out of the 5 goals were mistakes, the keeper gave away 3, 2 with passes to the CF in front of goal, and the CH No:5, forgot that he had to mark at corners to leave the number 2 of Crawley to walk un opposed into the 6 yard area to score. I thought it was a poor game, on a poor surface (never 3G). But Crawley were men, v majority of boys Edgware. I'm sure we will improve though, but the manager has to understand that we can't play football in our own half. 1 mistake equals a goal.

Ampthill town  2 Aresley town 2.  Excellent performance from the young Ampthill side, refreshing to watch, we were unlucky not to win having been 2-0 up at half time, most of the lads were under 21 and were more than a match for the southern premier league team at times, great start for Derwayne.

Wodson Park 0-5 Hertford Town.

A good run-out for the 1st pre-season game saw some new players impress alongside virtually all of last season's squad plus some returning long-term absentees.

4 well taken goals from Donovan, Campbell, Ruff, on-trial Jordan Watson and a pen converted by Campbell saw off a resolute Wodson Park side during three 30min periods which saw the entire squad enjoy game time.

Leighton Town 1-2 Chesham Reserves

Not bad, considering that according to the local paper none of last season's squad seemed to know when to report back and it was basically triallists who may never have played together before.

London Colney 2 Ealing Town 0

Decent and competative PSF. Colney played two different XIs in either half. Scored both gls in second half and missed a penalty late on which was skyed ala Chris Waddle

Based on this game Ealing will be good addition to the league. Play with good spirit and could of scored 2 rhemselves in 1st half.

WGC v Colney Heath ended 2-2 - played at Moneyhole playing fields in Welwyn

OD's - Did you attend?

Yes I was there.

Stansted started the stronger and passed the ball about well and scored after about 10 mins with a nice strike. With alot of new faces we did struggle for the rest of the half but did create a couple of chances.

2nd half was a different affair as we had most of it and with Stansted tiring we did create quite a few chances but could not get the illusive goal. We were awarded a late penalty which was our equaliser.

1st team still a working progress with near enough a complete new squad and 6 players under 18 in the squad for the game.

Bushey Sports 0 4 Edgware,

After the 5 0 defeat from Stafford Rangers although a decent performance) a excellent showing  from Edgware. Dominated from start to finish barring 10 mins in the 2nd half. Some excellent goals, and overall coming on slowly but surely..Bushey worked hard, and have some good players, especially number 12 in midfield.

Sun Postal 6 v Edgware 2.

Edgware looked good in the opening 45 minutes, and should have at least been level, but Sun postal were more clinical in front of goal. Sun Postal made 10 changes at half time, and The first 20mins of the 2nd half Sun Postal destroyed Edgware scoring 4 goals. Edgware scored 2 late on goals to at least make the score line a little more respectable in then end.

The first two of Witham's seven goals at Hertford Town last night are below.... What do people think?  - A PENALTY???

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8coLWjiLhhQ

Definite dive for me, no contact or noise of a clash. Looking for the pen and the sight of big Ini rushing out scared him into a tumble . . .
