CHRIS,you know what they say 'Points on the board are better than games in hand'

Ash have to play Chessington, the loser or draw makes Bedfont Sports  safe.Neither would be able get 42 points.

Horley have to play Mole Valley, but Horley need to win all 3 of their games,by 8. clear goals to beat Bedfont Sports,as their goal difference is inferior.A draw for Mole Valley against Horley would be sufficient for them to secure Premier status. The shame is that the season does not end on the same day for all

The thing that shook me about recent results is the dislike that teams have for each other.

4 games all involving relegation where the team that had nothing to play for made sure that the team in the relegation dogfight got nothing or little at all.

Cove v Ash a few miles apart would rather travel to Chessington/Mole Valley/Bedfont/Horley on a Tuesday night, rather than play Ash in an Easter derby.Distance between Clubs 3 miles.ASH NIL POINTS

Hanworth Villa  v Bedfont Sports a few miles apart would rather travel to Chessington/Mole Valley/Ash/ Horley on a tuesday/wednesday night than play Bedfont Sports in an Easter derby,Distance between Clubs 2 miles BEDFONT NIL POINTS

Horley v South Park was slightly different as by South Park all ready being promoted, they would probably like to see Horley relegated,as it would put a 2 step gap between Clubs, and fans being fickle would probably travel to watch South Park instead.HORLEY NIL POINTS They used to share players, but not the points?

Lastly but not least Badshot Lea v Ash, would rather travel to Chessington/Horley/Bedfont Sports/Mole Valley/ on a tues/wed night Homeless v Landlord no distance to travel at all.ASH 1 POINT

Just hope Badshot Lea get a ground soon.

What a load of rubbish Smudge!

Apart from your generalising that an entire club would all want to see another relegated, even though it has some of their mates in it, you make the assumption that players care about this sort of thing. They turn up and attempt to win.

The only occasions where that desire to win might change are if they are up against a really good side, when they may feel beaten before they start, or maybe towards the end of the season when there is less to play for. They certainly do not sit there collectively and look at the table and decide they will try harder against one team or another. and nor do they sit there and work out the mileage either, just in case you wondered.

Is this a slow news day or something?

And there is no truth in the rumour that the Manchester United players stopped David Moyes on the way out and asked him to take Fellaini with him either :)

An afterthought where will Epsom and Ewell play their Xmas and Christmas derby games?Just say Croydon get moved to Kent as he is advising,South Park promoted, and Horley get relegated. There are no other Clubs nearby, personally think they will be moved to the Kent League,as he has clearly stated above Mileage is the last thing players think about.

Who knows where Epsom will be playing next season Smudge - could be in Kent...they're running out of grounds to share at.

Just to answer the question, (despite any response to an idiotic post being considered a 'bite' by the moronic minority, when I mistakenly thought it was a discussion point - like I give one anyway) the Christmas derby is the least of our concerns, seeing as we hardly ever play on that day anyway, and Croydon were in fact our August Bank Holiday and Easter Monday fixtures so were irrelevant.

If I were to stick my neck out here though, and considering that the F.A. are about to fill up the Kent League, I reckon they will streamline other Leagues here at the same time and Epsom could find themselves given a derby fixture with Dorking Wanderers, but we'll see.

Mileage is clearly the last thing that players think about. How many clubs has Terry played for Smudge?

Pity that powelly1 feels the need to laugh at another club's misfortune just as a cheap way of getting a response. Very sad. I do hope the fact you are powelly1 doesn't mean that there are more idiots like you named 2, 3 and 4.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE !  Teams are at the bottom for a reason, the league does not lie.  Why should clubs help them out Smudge, clubs at the bottom have got to get their own house in order to try and win the game to get out of trouble, whether the team they are playing have something to play for or not.....stupid statement, and its not a wind up...Smudge actually meant it !!  deluded ha ha.  :P

And another one Rich. A bite that is. Can't help yourself mate can you?

Yet another great post as well old chap. The only person I know who has a pop at one of his clubs fellow supporters in public - that's moronic!

Not a cheap shot at all Rich - I've voiced my opinion before about ground shares to you before and you didn't like it then, but it hasn't changed - I don't like it and never will. Your club was mismanaged in the past and paid the price. Now you live a nomadic existence and have played at three grounds that I know of. Tell me, how do you fund that? Do you pay players and if so, how do fund that? Not from gate receipts. No new ground in sight. If you were getting a new ground and sharing for one or two years then fine, but how long has this been going on? Play at a level you can sustain and if that's intermediate football then so be it. I admire the people you have who keep the club going and the time and effort associated with that. Anyway, quite happy to discuss it in depth when we play you on Saturday 3rd May if you want. I'll be the big bald lump watching as the reserves don't have a game that day - don't confuse me with our goalkeeping coach/reserve keeper Mike Brawley (Henry), he's much better looking.

Re: mileage - how far is it from Epsom to Chipstead?

There are more of us Powell's yes, but I'm the only one who posts on here.

Rich in answer to your cheap shot Question,I have run out of fingers and toes to count them.

My memory is not what it was but I will have a go to name them.

Banstead,Chipstead,Chalfont St Peter,Croydon (2),Croydon Ath (2),Croydon Municipal,Corinthian Casuals,Tooting and Mitcham,Merstham,AFC Fylde,Whyteleafe (2),Mole Valley,Leatherhead,Horley,Epsom and Ewell,Sth Kilburn,Dorking(2)Westfield,Bedfont Sports. if I have left anyone out I do apologise.

Must say though it has been an exciting 11 years,of going to different grounds each year, probably similar to what you have experienced over the same period of time.

Have met some lovely genuine people, and boosted a few Club forums viewing figures, from which I was banned eventually. The shame is Clubs do not like open and Honest remarks posted on them.

Where my journey will take me next year is anyones guess ;)

Which fellow supporter are you talking about?

Even if I have, so what? Many supporters of clubs have different view points, I certainly don't agree with them all.

Re: groundshares, that's your opinion, but an invalid one as they are here to stay and will only increase in number.

I have answered the other posts re: finance on the other thread (obviously not in major detail as this isn't the place) but I think that currently our position is sustainable. Our League position says we can, and I've also come to that conclusion from years of studying the club's finances, not just pulled a comment out of the air. I also don't see what concern it is of anyone else's as to how many grounds we've played at, whether it's one or ten, what does it matter? For the record it is three for our first team. You also have no idea whether there is a new ground in sight so stop guessing.

I'll happily have a chat with you on 3rd May at your lovely new council funded ground and will be behind the goal my team are attacking. Make sure you come armed with facts though, as hearsay and guesses don't count for a lot if you want a proper discussion.

Wouldn't you get grumpy when someone with no knowledge of a club, its finances or even the people involved suggests that you should fold or drop just because he personally doesn't like ground shares?

As for your grandson, I wasn't having a dig, just pointing out that players will play first without worrying about the travel to their own games in most cases. They certainly won't sit there worrying about where two potential opponents might be situated before deciding which to try harder against.

I'm sorry if I say something is a stupid idea when it is actually a stupid idea. Do you not want people to comment when you put a suggestion forward?
