Monday and a POINT to prove

OldTowner

Well, the 1 - 1 draws at Wingate and at Thurrock keep the position open.

Another BIG game on Monday when Town play Thurrock at the Dome.

Lots of questions still to be answered and point(s) required.

There is no option for Town Supporters......you just MUST be at the QEII for the last home match of the season.

3.00 pm Kick Off

Be there, be loud, be supportive.

Come on Town........the last BIG push !!!!!!!!7

One point needed in theory, but in order to have a chance of overtaking us Wingate will need two wins. I really can't see them getting a win at Leiston.

That said, let's remove any doubt by beating East Thurrock.

Sorry cant agree Tom

Wingate have a lot to play for. What has Leiston got to play for? No chance of a play off place and the only thing of interest will they overtake Hendon or stop Hampton from overtaking them?

It has been demonstrated many times in this league that the lowest can beat the highest on their day and yesterday it seemed to me that Wingate were "up for it" more than us. We looked very jaded at times.

Besides that decisions have to be made as to who is to be in goal. Lee White did well yesterday and made one outstanding save but would Noel have let in the goal that beat Lee?

We cannot rely on other results we have to play to win on Monday nothing else will do. If we win we can play with some freedom against Cray on Saturday.

Yes, this is unquestionably our biggest game of the season. Our match against East Thurrock this afternoon is of mega importance to the Club, and everything everyone has worked hard for over the past few months. It is about survival in the Ryman Premier League, and playing at that level again next season.

We have home advantage today, and we need to make it tell. Our players are well capable of getting a result, and under George's watchful eye I am sure they will.

Very best of luck everyone. May the force be with you!

Full-Time Score

Enfield Town 3 - 5 East Thurrock

A bad day at the office and a real wake-up call for the Town with one match still to play.

This result, and the 0-2 away win for Wingate & Finchley at Leiston, means that we still need one point from our last fixture of the season, away to Cray Wanderers next Saturday, to be certain of staying in the Ryman Premier League. Cray lost 5-0 today away to Margate.

Heads up everyone we CAN and WILL still do it !!

So so so so so negative from the off today! No width and no ambition. I mean, that's all well and good if the defence/keeper know what they're doing and are organised. 4 goals conceded in 25 minutes suggests they weren't. Woeful at Wingate on Saturday and now calamitous at home.

I appreciate that the players have a had a tough run of fixtures, but where has all the confidence and organisation generated by Borg gone?

Can we have Lee White back in goal please?

Not very impressed.

Some very direct comments from The Crowing Cockerel. I couldn't get up for the match yesterday, but did see the Wingate & Finchley match on Saturday. Must say I was stunned by the score-line in the East Thurrock match. Surprised there has been few comments, so far, from Towners who were there.

What is happening, and where and why is it all suddenly going so badly wrong? One thing for sure, we certainly need to get our act together again before Saturday.

Would be interested to hear what someone in the know, Vauxhallman (?) perhaps, makes of this worrying dip in form.
