BLUES GIVE LEADERS A TOUGH TEST

Those of us who were able to make the trip to Wealdstone lst night were privaliged to see a steering performance by our spirited young team against undoubtedly the best team in the league.

Every member of the team worked their socks off and in the first half we were unlucky not to o in with our noses in front.

Despite having played 8/9 games in the last two weeks they gave their all and despite finally losing to a pen and a very well taken goal all concerned can hold their heds high. The compliments coming from the Wealdstone supporters after the game were considerable.

Isn't in strange that after a performance like that which I am sure had been reported on the various social networks nobody else has come on here to praise them.

Sometimes people only like to point out the negatives

We have a talented young squad who have learnt a lot this year nod will hopefully show their full potential next season.

So get behind them and support them not on their back all the time trying to bring them down

It was another enjoyable game, with the exception of the result. Two defensive mistakes, two goals and even if we didn't give their keeper much to do, we did still pile on the pressure periods. We are at bare bones but the team out in a spirited performance. We were not played off the park.

We'll done to the team and to those that managed to turn up and support them.

Have to agree.

Thought we played very well, all things considering and arguably had the best chances of what was a tight match. It is games like these that give all hope for next year. Only downside on the evening was a ban on drinks within the ground as "we don't want another Dulwich", which considering the good welcome we had at their ground earlier in the year was surprising.

Jeff continues to impress, we can't afford to let him go over the Summer.

Looking forward to Saturday.

I hear Wealdstone are a decent footballing side, and I'd say there's no loss of face losing to Champions-elect.

I think too many people are focussing on the negatives as mentioned above.  This was always going to be a transition season and a top half finish with a team that has been built from (near) scratch is a big positive.

One season in the Conference South has people believing the club have a right to be there now.

The break that playing on a Monday will give the players before playing again on Saturday will be welcome and could be a great fitness boost before playing this weekend.

I really need to pull my finger out and get to some away games, until then I'm looking forward to next Tuesday's visit by Bury Town.

There are plenty of positives to take from this squad and a good core to build on and I hope this is strongly recognised at the fans forum.
