Good news today in Dorking!

Recommended Posts

Today I am delighted to be able to announce the future of football in Dorking has been secured!

Following weeks of speculation and behind the scenes negotiations, agreement has been reached on a deal that will see Dorking's two senior clubs merge, with a new state of the art stadium being built on the current site of the MVDCs council HQ, freeing up Meadowbank for a joint Council and Police HQ.

Iconic Pippbrook house will be redeveloped to become one of the most attractive physio centres, dressing rooms and clubhouse in non league football, with superb views over the new two pitches (1 x g4) and the top floor suite will overlook Box Hill, confirming the Olympic 2012 legacy of the popular cycle road races.

All this will be funded by a combination of private and public investment using grants, loans, capital and public subscription .

New Director of Football, the ex Holland midfielder Avril De Phoel couldn't conceal his delight today "Football is coming home" he enthused.

Unfortunately the Dorking Ad couldnt get a comment from the current DFC owners, and the Wanderers committee were last seen signing a deal with Hello magazine to tell their side of the story.

The bowling club arent very happy and are considering taking matters further.

Perhaps they should jack it in? ;)

I'll take that.

By the way, when are you going to register for the SCEFL forum given that most of your local clubs will be drawn eastwards in the summer?

.....and there is absolutely no truth to the rumour that Jose, 'The Chosen One'  has invited DFC to play all their home games at Chelsea's training ground in Cobham.
