Eversley have an inspection on 2nd April.

Current out standings which are being sorted this week are:

1) new pay hut

2) fence to enclose the ground

3) yellow hatching in front of the stands

4) exit signs

The ground grading committee have confirmed the floodlight certificate meets their requirements and we just have to demonstrate the lights in use on the 2nd.

Happy to answer any questions anyone has.

Yes please Daniel :)

Was over your place on Sunday and I didnt realise that all the land at the back and side was being filled in and being put to use by your club.  Is that right and if so how many more pitches are you putting in ?

Thanks :)

Mayfield Road will have to be graded once we return and are in possession of the lease.   The Stadium had a 'C' Grade before it went out of use and most of that infrustrature remains meaning that when the grading is done it will be at least what is required for our current purposes.

Until then we have agreement of the Council to remain at the Arena which is our current home ground.

Knaphill have an inspection on the 2nd April although we have provisionally been told we meet the requirements.

We have to carry out the following:

- Fire Exit signs (completed).

- Yellow hatched lines in front of stand.

- Small area of fencing to be added.

We have plans in place for the extra seated stand and covered stand should we get promoted.

What is the position of the Mayfield Road site? I heard a lot of work's been done on the clubhouse but the ground itself is still a bombsite.  Does anyone have a timetable? You could have a prospective groundsharer in Tooting & Mitcham Wanderers.

The ground is not a bombsite; we do have a timetable; and we have a number of clubs interested in a groundshare.

Chris did you ever visit the Old,Old Club in Ryman 3 days, now that was a Community Club,Sunday Lunches,3 kids teams on the main pitch every Sunday, all supporting each other,,Club functioning 7 days per week,10 youth /kids sides.Ist team players spending their wages before they went home in the bar,Powelly/Galey/Scotty Thomas/Glyn Schimmel,Tristan Wood.Mascots meet the players, photos taken with Officials,no fee charged in fact the Players had a whip round for them every game, packed coaches to away games, every game..The main man behind this initiative, was Youth Section Chairman Richard(Dicky)Clayton who sadly passed away this weekend,in my eyes he was a TRUE NON LEAGUE LEGEND he was not in it for the money, but what he could give to others, especially the youngsters,he nurtured them as if they were his own. Many of you may never of heard of him,but for 7 years he gave his all,to put Croydon Athletic on the map.Would be nice to think that a Minutes Silence could be observed at Croydon Athletics next Home game as a mark of respect to A GREAT MAN,My thoughts are with his Family at the moment,Stella,Lee,Dan,Sam,and little Joe,the nicest Family anyone could wish to meet.

Yes Dick Clayton's passing was a big shock to us all. A very familiar face around the area will be badly missed. Sam and Danny were watching our game last night, it was good to see them in what must a really difficult time. Condolences too to the wider family who I personally don't know.

  • 2 weeks later...

Following a CCL ground grading inspection 2 day Knaphill FC have passed all requirements & are now eligible for promotion. Now we have to continue the hard work and get promoted.

Congratulations to Eversley who also passed their inspection today.

Have South Park any work to do on the basis they look likely to win the CCL Premier?

The "other" forum states South Park have passed - so it's now just a matter of 4 more wins. They could win the title at Epsom & Ewell - wonder if Stan will be in the guard of honour if they do  ;)

Spelthorne Sports can today also confirm that our ground grading has also been signed off for (fingers crossed) promotion into the CCL Premier Division.

The squad now need to continue to perform well on the pitch and repay all of the hard work that has gone in to the ground developments over the last few months.
