It was Sid Shave, Paul's uncle.

Who was the Small trialist? Scored 2 goals so maybe he has a little potential. Has he a minute chance of being signed?

@Brightside and Mack

Yep it was Shavesy come on 2nd half played 45 mins and would have been booked if it had not been a friendly :) ,Don't think he's back as such but he was also at the Thurrock friendly.

@New Lodger

A fella called Jared Small apparantly been about a bit was last seen at Grays did well and looked a handful.

Given Shave was the only named outfield player on the bench, could it not be the case he was just 'helping out?'

Match Preview on Official Site tells us a bit more about Jared Small.

If he does sign, two goals in one appearance for Town, is better than his form at Grays (3 in 22 appearances, albeit some as sub)

Was a decent run around for the players who haven't had 90 minutes, Jared has been around the senior league and ryman 1 for a few season, not sure if he will be david knight-esk, but worth a gamble if he doesn't mind coming on the cheap! He can also play on the wing.

Ryan marriott also looked good, any news on him?

Shavesy admitted himself as the oldest trialist around!
