This fascination that people have with Spencer, amazes me.Maybe he was just out watching a game for enjoyment. As for Ross Allen being a target,we all know he is Guernsey through and through, and does it for the love of his Island, not the £££s.An Egham player was probably the reason for the visit,he has been to the well there before!!!!!

I believe that Ross would only think of moving if offered a Pro contract with a League team or a Blue Square Premier team with realastic chance of playing sooner rather than later in the Football League. In a recent interview he would not comment on any possible interest from other clubs.

I cant see him joining the likes of Farnbrough, with all due respect to them.

and with all due respect to him ... CCL1 and the blue square conf is a massive leap..... not saying he could not do it but needs time in a higher level to prove he can do it.

With respect, next season will be a bit more of a test for Allen in the CCL Premier.  The defences are usually stronger and better organised. altho' with the goals conceeded this season you wouldn't think that !  There are some good teams in the CCL so am looking forward to watching a few games in Guernsey me thinks and soak up the atmosphere !

With Guernsey's immediate success, I wonder if the crowds will be even bigger playing in a higher divison next season or has Guernsey hit their heights crowd-wise ?

Ross has scored 3 goals in 2 games against Premier teams in the cup so I don't think him scoring will be a problem. But I don't expect him to be quite as prolific !

I expect crowds to rise as we go to higher divisions. Our record crowd in recent times was 6,000 for the Island Games final in 2003 when we defeated the Isle of Man 3-1 in the final - Wiki link below.

It depends on weather I reckon lol !

I would say about 1,200

But in the prem next year I expect our average to be up a bit. But I don't think we will see a significant jump in our crowd average until we get to step 4 ( sorry cough .....If we get to step 4 ! ;) )

"GB" is not eligible....  You get the Isle of Wight to fly your flag and Ynys Mon for Wales.  Islands join by invitation

The Island Games began in 1985 as the Inter-Island Games, as part of the Isle of Man International Year of Sport, and were intended to be a one-off sporting celebration only.

For a Channel Island based player any move would need to be to a higher level as he would have to give up more by moving from his Island to the UK mainland. He had a spell when he was younger playing College level in the US I seem to recall. His Dad was some player too and played now defunct NASL.

I agree, not many 24 year old get taken on by a League Club.

if he scores as he has done i can see him going elsewhere but surely hes on a contract at guernsey (he may be) else theyd lose him for nothing..............jay coombes was given a 3 month trial at qpr when he was top gioalscorer when at lammas an he was prolific so its not unheard of wasnt ian wright an at a later age also!?

jay was late twenties

None of the Guernsey players are on a contract as they do not get paid.

HKP, playing for their Country (Guernsey FC) is a big enough honour for the players surely.......!
