Chertsey v Burnham postponed at 11.30 although........

At 1pm when I arrived to set up our poker match, the pitch had thawed and was in great condition. We did tell the local ref that it would thaw with the sun on it but he wasn't happy.

That's true, but maybe he was thinking of later on when the temperature gets colder again and sun goes down? Our lawn had thawed by noon, but was still hard. Come just before 4 pm it had a thin white frost layer over it.

I guess it was just one of those days for everyone :(

Our pitch solid... We went in at 10.00 and did a run but was too hard so we did an indoor core beasting session.... Hope the game at Macclesfield is on on Tuesday nite but with the weather up there I am not sure if it will go ahead....
Left at 12.30 and it was still solid..............

I do feel for football clubs cos days like yesterday and any postponement cost them loss of much needed revenue/funds.  Isn't hard enough to run a football club when games are played let alone when games are called off especially on a Saturday, which in theory they rely on and is their busiest, most profitable day !
