Doesn't seem to be much in the way of snow forecast round this area. However, the latter part of the week is showing as severe frosts so I expect a lot of games will fall on Saturday if correct. May get away with Tuesday night.

Certainly hope so as our 40 page programme for Tuesday's game with Molesey has gone to the printers this morning!

Well, despite -3 degrees being forecast last night, we had no frost!
However, the next few nights look colder so there must be some doubt re midweek and weekend matches.

Nice Guy,you are very hurtful today, think I will take G.F's Advice and block your posts from my view. The problem with you,is you dig out decent people, with your snide remarks.People who work hard for their Clubs,do not deserve it.

Do what you wish Smudgeyboy, it is no concern to me.

Smudgeyboy, my comments to E&E Ed were genuine as his efforts (10 hours if I recall rightly) and expense all went to waste 'cos the referee decided not to play the game when in Ed's eyes it could have started, thus he could have sold his programmes so his efforts and costs would then NOT have been in vain........!

You are very hurtful towards me Smudgeyboy, I think I may have to block off you posts as I'll get heartbroken....................lol !!!

Oddly enough, there was no frost on the car this morning even though it was well below freezing. My fingers crossed for everyone.

Still 50/50 if we will get snow, I think as time goes on its less likely..... (Comment will no doubt come back to haunt me!)

No frost on the car this morning either but the ground is absolutely solid. I wonder if any clubs with home games will be able to check their pitches out at around 3pm today? Might go a long way to seeing what the likelihood of games going ahead tomorrow.

I'm not sure if snow is the real issue this weekend, but the ground is now suffering from continual frost since Monday evening and this will cause problems. I was at Molesey at 3pm yesterday to check our pitch for training and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon, but the areas where there was shade were dangerous even then. If this continues, which is forecast, I cannot see much chance of our game tomorrow getting the go ahead. I hope I am wrong, but the frost really is biting into the ground.

On the other subject of Merstham. The people there were clearly doing their utmost to get the game on and it could have started for sure. The referee had obviously decided to call it off and I was certainly not asked for my opinion. Having said that, should I be? He is responsible for all matters relating to the game so, although my view may have some bearing, it would not have much of an impact if the referee was adamant that it was unplayable. One thing did strike me as odd - the referee came from Twyford, and one of his assistants from Billingshurst, both of which seem a bit of a trek for a midweek game. Even more so considering so few games in any leagues were scheduled that night - just a thought and nothing to do with the cancellation.

I agree about the travel distances and thought it was a little unusual.

However as you have said above, your view may have some bearing, so I feel that a common sense decision would have been to speak to both teams before making a decision. It's like ignoring your linesman when he has something to say. It might actually help.

Or if we got goalline technology in will some refs ignore that too?  Like the advantage rule that some play excellently, but others can't wait to blow the whistle even though the rule is there to allow them to see how play develops. Use the things that are there to help you.

Down to the chilling breeze. Even though not a stong and only interval, it still keeps the frost away. Like you say though, grounds are still solid :(

We will be doing that, though it looks unlikely we will play at Wibbandune on Saturday I fear. :(

It was minus 11 in Chesham last night BTW. :o
