Could someone tell me how many total acres there are in the complete area, including parking etc. If anyone knows the Rams total area would be nice to know that as well, so I can visualise the comparisions. Please, no sarcastic remarks - would like to compare. Ta! :)

Notwithstanding the 'mine's bigger than yours' aspect-quite an interesting question/comparison.

How large is yours over on the redside Oregon ?

These American's-obsessed with size !!!!

i always scraped through by deluding myself that its what you do with it that matters, but MFC seem to be making particularly good use of theirs

So you understate the mass but overstate the length?

Thanks Wellsie - it is nice to get a sensable comment - although you didn't answer my question directly. 1 acre is 43,560 sq ft. Full size playing field is 100 x 150 yds = just about 1 acre. You have two pitches against Rams 1, plus add-ons. So(?) MFC must have at least 1 acre more. I asked this question because of a comment on our forum the other day - time will tell (yea, pigs might fly!!!)

You're a bit out of date - the lease for the 3G pitch was not granted. So the new development plan area is pretty much as you see on the image; the existing stadium footprint plus the 5-a-Side centre. I'll take your word for the area measurements. I doubt there's much in the available lnads given the car park / scrub area along side the pitch at Southwood. If you're really interested, I guess you could look at the plans on the TDC website.

I don't know whats on the ramsgate forum, but on the few occasions i've ventured to southwood-i always thought  that if the ramsgate pitch was rotated 90 degrees-they could rebuild quite an awesome stadium on that site.

As ever though-you need someone to fund it

Michael, a while ago that was mentioned. Believe someone said it was turned around many years ago from that 90○

LOL! I guess the issue at Southwood is access  and the proximity of housing that would presumeably prohibit a new building of any height which makes moving the best(?) option.

Still, a Kent League quality stadium wouldn't need to be very big ;)

Still, whatever Ramsgate decide to do, I predict the same level of support for them that we saw for Margate's planning application on the club's official forum.
