Good job Manchester United's 12th man (Howard Webb) wasn't around in 1957 as he would have had Peter McParland off.  It was a perfectly fair charge as I remember.

Horsham away was the night Byron Harrison intimated his determination to leave the club, which is probably where that came from!

Chamal update - now with Havant & Waterlooville (came on as sub on Tuesday evening)

He remains the only player for whom we paid a transfer fee - £250 to Godalming.  We sold him to Worthing for the same figure.

Jermaine was out of order, not turning up for the Canvey match, but probably did us a favour. Relegation was a virtually certainty for the following season with all the players leaving with the wage cuts.

I've been thinking of ex-keepers. Like others, I suspect, I get timeshare type emails from Garvin Snell but does anyone know what another ex-keeper called Frei (can't remember his surname?) is up to - football wise if at all?

As I recall, he stopped playing for us to go to university in Manchester, but was quite highly thought of when he played his few games with us. Not as highly as the legend Paul Burgess, of course, but a good keeper and first-class lad.

Come on Gareth (statto) one for you, or AC!

Keith,

With regard to your earlier post, This morning I had a facebook message from Mark Butler. He's still taking a break away from the game but is happy and has no plans to return as yet,  although he may still in the future. He sends his best wishes to all his friends at ATMFC.

Wonder if Mark would come and watch us if we made the Aldershot Cup Final? ;)
