The usual once in a while Quiz night is on at the Eyrie on Friday night. Details are:

Teams of up to 6 people.
£5 per person on a team.
Includes a ploughmans Supper.
7:30pm arrival for an 8pm start.

Even if you have not got a team, please come along and we will fit you into a team that is short.

It is always a good evening with banter and entertainment. You will be raising money for your club at the same time. :)

For bookings and information please contact Gerry on Bedford 381213 or gerry.edmunds@bedfordeagles.net

Why don't you  come to the quiz you might find out!! It would be nice if some Bedford Town Supporters actually supported functions, apart from the usual ones who support everything!!!

Wouldn't also be nice if the club gracefully accepted finance and help from others, it seems to us that actually quite a bit of finance (probably a great deal more than a pub quiz generates) has been offered by supporters over recent years and refused by the club...all very strange?

Clevedon last year BE.

Switching the topic slightly, i would like to announce that I shall be hosting a pass the parcel Christmas event at the Eyrie this December. Inside the parcel will be "the blame for the problems at BTFC". I intend to invite everyone. The chairman, board, fans, players, supporters club, trust, managers and business to get involved. Don't worry, I will make sure everyone sits in different corners of the room. Heaven forebid the idea of us all coming together with a sole purpose.

Regarding the topic of a lively active website, YOU all had that with the hours of effort that went into it. It's a shame it wasnt appreciated more.

Rock, unfortunately there is always a reason why something isn't working, or goes wrong. We also don't think there is a blame game going on, just some highlighting of facts and possible solutions to the problem But what concerns us the most is that there isn't one BTFC supporter in the world who doesn't fully appreciate what you have done, or currently do. To many of us you've been the link to sharing information with regards to the comings and goings, goals scored and general behind the scenes news and the appreciation for all of your hard work has been and is still well documented (and really appreciated). The real concern to us  is who on earth has persuaded you otherwise in believing your efforts are so unappreciated, as nothing could be further from the truth.

I have been a bit offended by this remark, I was supporting the club well before you came along, when it started matey you were not around for years whilst people like me set it up by painting, building, laying slabs, doing all the things to get it going, as time goes by you tend to hand the club to newer hands.  ''The usual'' ones was people like me and others who ''used'' to believe the impossible dream and spend hours for the club doing things for free.   I was there in 1991 till i must admit not so much today, but have contributed as many other have.

You are not the club ''Peter Kay'' (I know who you are).    The truth is for the last 3/4 seasons we have achieved naff all, people will not pay the price to see ''your'' team not ''ours''  to see rubbish being played week in and week out.  No ambition in my eyes.

I came this season and did see a couple of games and did enjoy the football. BUT also people would like to see a win occasionally, and not one every 12 games played.  Thats what will bring people back........a yes '''''winning'''' team and not your stupid sycastic remarks.

I wish you well, especially the likes of Rock, who I have great respect, even people who give there time to the club, but don't be offensive even in jest.

I am only replying to all this nonsense as I was merely trying to drum up support for the Quiz which the Supporters Club are holding this coming Friday. I was suggesting that supporters might like to come to a SOCIAL EVENT not a game. It's entirely up to you if you don't choose to come to games. The amount we raise from social events is neither here nor there where the team is concerned but the people who do come really enjoy the evening.
I also am absolving Max from any blame. As I am not registered on the forum I posted under his name but forgot to add that it was not him posting but me
Gerry

p.s. who are all these people who have offered money to the club and been refused ???

Professional???  I didn't know you had to be - I told Max what I had done and he didn't seem to mind. It was only referred to as nonsenSe as you seemed to take it all so personally as if someone was 'having a go' at you - I suppose all those who post under a pseudonym are the professionals

As stated in my statement Carlo, it was not the "pat on the back" I was looking for. I am still not. The appreciation I wanted was people discussing and making use of the posts I was starting on the forum. Topics about interviews with the manager went up, 600 people listened to it and no one responded with any comment. That's what was disheartening. Now it's all dried up and it's "all a reflection of the state of the club".

I am certainly NOT pointing the finger. I think the most common theme in my posts is the fact of us all being in this together and not us v them situations.

Anyway, Quiz time tomorrow! Hopefully many of you will come! :)
