Didcot scored in the 95th minute, Oh dear so unlucky.

Didcot 1-0 Bedford

It took ten matches and 5 months but Didcot finally claimed a victory in the Zamaretto Premier Division last night and after so many frustrating games only the most partisan Bedford supporters present would say we didn't deserve it.

In a fascinating encounter Didcot carried on with the improvements we saw at Bashley and in the first half in particular dominated for long periods without carving out too many clear-cut chances.

After the break the visitors were far more threatening and came within an inch of taking the lead when a Callum Lewis shot hit the inside of the post and bounced clear across the face of goal.

But in a dramatic finish a James Mortimer-Jones corner was headed goalwards by Andy Gunn and substitute Elliott Osborne-Ricketts forced the ball home in the 5th minute of stoppage time. Full report online tomorrow.

The win sees us move up to 14th place in the table with 4 points from four games. In the process a significant milestone I believe has also taken place. It may only be for a few hours, results on Saturday will determine that, but we now sit proudly as the highest placed non-league club in the county (including before the boundary changes which took us from Berkshire into Oxfordshire) for the first time in the club's history.
