As many of you will be aware, the A421 has been undergoing major road works for the past two seasons since the summer of 2008. The 3 year project is due for completion in December when you will be able to travel on dual carriageway from the new Junction 13 of the M1, all the way through past the Club to the A1 at Black Cat Roundabout.

Many fans traveling from the Milton Keynes direction will be aware of the many midweek overnight closures taking place between 10pm and 5-6am. There are 40mph speed restrictions in place along the entire stretch of road works with average speed cameras. Please allow extra time for your journey to home games and away games involving the A421. As we head into the New Year the project should be complete and we should have a lovely new stretch of road to enjoy.

Aswell as the A421, the M1 between junction 10 (Luton) and 13 (Bedford A421) is undergoing carriage extensions taking the motorway from 3 lanes to 4. There are road works in place with 50mph speed limits with average speed cameras. The work has only just begun this summer and is due for completion in Spring 2013. This means this season, next season and the season after next will be affected by this work. Again, allow yourself extra time when travelling to any London away game or ground accesible via M1, M25 etc.

If anyone notices any other long term roadworks that could affect travelling throughout the season, please post them onto the website.

Take care everyone.

The work is progressing well guys, as I am sure many of you have noticed. The A421 new alignment is taking shape around the Marsh Leys (Asda) to A6 section which seems to be the biggest part they have left to do. The latest news suggests for a mid/late November opening of the road, however the current A421 will have work done to it after opening. Therefore journeys along both stretches of the road will be affected for the remainder of the season.

The day has arrived. Traffic ran along the new stretch of A421 for the first time today. Work will continue on the old A421 for a further four months, however the new road is now the main route to and from the a1. Anyone travelling from MK to the Eagles should have their journey times reduced by about 10 minutes from now on. The full BOS report on today's events can be found by clicking here:
